The Challenge
My sister Briana Dunning is a celebrity hairstylist working in L.A. and co-founder of the haircare line Unsubscribe. With serious credentials: trained at Toni & Guy London, former network educator for Bumble and Bumble, and a devoted following built around her expertise in texture and curl, the challenge was translating all of that into a cohesive personal brand that felt like her unique style and and captured as much intentionality and intelligence as her work does.
The Work
I led full brand strategy and creative direction, starting with a deep discovery process to define her positioning, voice, and audience. Briana's brand is built around a core philosophy: informed ease. The idea that hair should feel simple once you understand it, and that real expertise means working with the texture in the ways you have crafted for a lifetime, and then teaching clients to own their hair, not just depend on the chair. That's a different promise than most hairstylists make, and it required a voice and visual identity to match.
I developed her brand architecture, messaging framework, and content strategy, with copy that is direct, warm, and craft-obsessed without being clinical or precious. The visual direction reflects the same sensibility: textured, intentional, and precisely undone.
The Takeaway
This project is the one that shows what I can do when given full creative ownership of a brand from the ground up. It required strategic thinking, sharp copy, and an understanding of both the beauty industry and the specific person I was building it for.
